River Tutoring provides an individualized learning approach specific to each student’s needs. Our tutoring addresses reading, spelling, comprehension, written expression, study skills and organizational strategies. Our tutors can help students from elementary to highschool age with a variety of subjects including: English, Math, Algebra, Science, Spanish and all general subject areas. Children who struggle with written expression often struggle with handwriting, spelling, grammar, sentence structure, composition and/ or organization of thoughts and ideas. River Tutoring offers a multi-faceted approach to the remediation of difficulties with written expression. Based on a student’s profile, we can determine which tools and strategies are most effective. There are also some students suffer from an overwhelming inability to break down assignments into manageable pieces, properly study for tests, and set priorities. River Tutors instruct students on the proper use of textbooks, effective highlighting strategies, reading for a purpose and breaking down the steps in an assignment. Our staff members strive to provide students with a network of support as well as the tools they need to succeed to the best of their abilities in their academic life. In addition to providing tools to the student, we also provide parents with the support they need to facilitate and further their child's progress at home.
